Florida Futures Cup

Friday, September 1st - 12:00pm

All fields are OPEN for the weekend.  No schedule changes as of now. We will continue to monitor the fields as the weekend progresses and if we have to make any field changes we will notify all teams involved.  In an attempt to preserve the fields for the entirety of the event, especially the goal mouth areas, we ask that you do not warm up inside the 18 yard box.

Thursday, August 31st - 6:30pm

Most of the fields are draining well, there are a few fields that still need some work.  We will be out at the fields in the morning to re-evaluate and make the final decision on fields being playable in conjunction with the complex staff.  A lot will be determined by how much rain we get tonight.  We are optimistic that the overwhelming majority of fields will be playable for Saturday, we just need to walk a few of the fields in the morning to make the final call.  If we end up making any scheduling changes, we will try to have the updated schedule ready by Friday at 1pm.  If we do make changes, we won’t be making any teams come earlier than their current scheduled start time, it would just be moving games later or to Sunday.  If we have an update for you earlier than 1pm, we will send that out as soon as we can.

We look forward to hosting everyone this weekend and we will send out another update tomorrow morning (Friday).

Thursday, August 31st - 10:00am

As of now, the 2023 Chargers Labor Day Tournament is on as planned.  The fields are wet, but they are starting to drain.  The tournament will happen, we just might have to work through some field closures if certain fields at the complex don’t drain in time for Saturday kickoff.  If we do have some field closures, there is a possibility of some schedule changes to accommodate.  Games might get moved to later Saturday night on fields with lights and some Saturday games might get moved to Sunday.  There will be many factors in making these changes such as coaching conflicts and rest between games on Sunday if you end up with 2 games on Sunday.  There are a lot of moving pieces, so we will try our best to work through as many coaching conflicts as possible if we do end up having to make changes to the schedule.  We ask for everyone’s flexibility if we end up making changes due to field closures.

As of now the schedule is normal.  We will provide another update tonight once we see how the fields drain today.  If we end up making any scheduling changes, we will try to have the updated schedule ready by Friday at 1pm.  If we do make changes, we won’t be making any teams come earlier than their current scheduled start time, it would just be moving games later or to Sunday.

Stay tuned for another update tonight.
